Google is adding a set of tools aimed at small business owners to its Gemini app, including a dedicated business page, brand-consistent image creation and help making sense of finances. In an October 20 blog post, the company said “tens of millions” of small business owners already use Gemini, and that the new features will roll out “in the coming days” to all Gemini app users worldwide.
A home base for your business
The centrepiece is a new business landing page inside Gemini. Google describes it as one place where owners can work on their brand, look at their finances and review what customers are saying.
Gemini can also connect to other services so it can pull in information or act on it. Google’s own options include Google Business Profile (the listing that shows up in Search and Maps), Google Ads and Google Workspace. Outside apps on the list include:
- Canva and Adobe for design
- Shopify and Wix for online stores and websites
- Dropbox for files
- Xero and Zoho for accounting and business software
Images that match your brand
One common complaint about AI images is that they look generic. To tackle that, owners can upload their website, a brand kit, fonts or colour palettes. Gemini then uses Google’s Nano Banana 2.1 image model to create marketing material, such as images for a product launch, in that style.
Google says Gemini remembers the brand style afterwards, so you do not have to upload your guidelines every time you ask for a new graphic.
Help with the numbers
The finance feature lets owners hand Gemini spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records and get back charts and interactive models. Google says this takes “seconds”. As with any AI summary of money matters, it is sensible to double-check the figures before relying on them for tax or big decisions.
Larger companies that need central admin controls and stricter data rules are pointed to Google’s separate Gemini Enterprise product instead.
What it means for you
If you run a small business, these features are coming to the regular Gemini app rather than a separate paid business product. Google’s post says they are rolling out to all Gemini app users worldwide, but it does not say whether any parts, or how much use, are limited to paid Google AI plans, so free users may hit caps. Connecting accounts like Google Ads or your accounting software gives Gemini access to that data, so only link what you are comfortable sharing.
For a one-person shop without a designer or bookkeeper, the brand-matched images and quick financial charts could save real time. Just treat the output as a first draft, not the final word.
